Eiji Okada entered Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music after
graduating from Horikawa High School. His teachers include Togi Yuji, Kozai
Noriko, Inoue Takeo, and W.Schtavonhagen. Upon completing his studies at
university, he joined the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam and studied
under J. Juda at the Amsterdam College of Music. During his 14 years in Holland
he performed extensively throughout the country. In 1980 he was asked by the
Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra to serve as concertmaster. In addition to his role
as concertmaster with the orchestra, Mr. Okada is active in chamber ensembles
and as a soloist. He also teaches at Ishiyama High School in Shiga Prefecture.
